Community Rated Medigap Plans
Community-rated Medigap pricing, also known as Medicare Supplement community-rated, can vary from state to state and area to area. This type of pricing charges the same premium for everyone who purchases a particular Medigap plan, regardless of age. However, factors like inflation may cause the price to increase.
While community-rated pricing or issue age could be the least costly option, it’s essential to consider attained age rating, which is the third type of Medigap premium pricing. It’s important to know how various companies in your state and area price their policies. You can contact Woody’s Insurance, and we will explain and assist you in finding the best and most economical plan for you in your area.

Rate Increase History For Medigap Plans
Clients often ask us about the reliability of Medigap rates and how much they can expect the rates to increase each year. The answer to the first question is yes, Medigap rates will increase. Each company has a history of how much their rates have increased over time, except for new companies. It’s crucial to note that any agent who tells you otherwise is untrustworthy.
Most Medigap policies have a rate increase once a year, usually on your policy anniversary. However, some carriers may increase rates on your birthday month instead. Depending on your policy type, you may even experience a rate increase during both your birthday month and anniversary month.

Medigap Plan C
Medigap Plan C is a type of supplemental insurance plan that provides additional coverage to help pay for some of the costs associated with Medicare. It is important to note that Medigap Plan C is not the same as Medicare Part C, which is also known as Medicare Advantage.
Medigap Plan C covers a range of Medicare expenses, including the Part B deductible. However, as of January 1, 2020, this plan is no longer available to new Medicare enrollees. Existing policyholders who enrolled in Plan C before this date can still keep their coverage.
Medigap Plan D
Medigap Plan D is a type of Medicare supplement insurance plan that provides coverage for many of the out-of-pocket costs associated with Original Medicare. However, it does not include coverage for the Part B deductible or Part B excess charges. Plan D falls somewhere in the middle in terms of coverage, between the least and most comprehensive options.
It’s important to note that Medigap and other supplement insurance plans are provided by private insurance companies, which means that the costs and availability of each plan may vary depending on the insurer. Some insurance companies may not offer Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan D policies.
Nevertheless, we work with carriers that offer this plan, and we believe it provides an excellent balance of price and benefits.
